History
Martin's Voice grew out of Pastor Dennis Hendricksen's vision of teaching young people to minister through music. After participating in his training course, some of his students approached Pastor Dennis with the idea of pursuing this ministry through the formation of a band.
To reflect our Lutheran background, we honour Martin Luther with the name of our band, harkening to Dr. Luther's own joy of music and his attempts to incorporate popular music into the church of his day. Martin's Voice is a music leadership and worship band, specialising in contemporary light rock services. We incorporate traditional hymns and modern gospel rock with our own unique sound, to create settings we hope are both uplifting and reflective of our personal faiths.
Over the years, Martin's Voice has grown and evolved to its current six members with a variety of musical backgrounds. We have developed from a strictly performance team into a dynamic mix of liturgy, leadership and concert.
